MMA

MMA stands for Mixed Martial Arts, a full-contact combat sport that allows a wide variety of fighting techniques and skills from a mixture of other combat sports to be used in competition. MMA incorporates elements from disciplines such as boxing, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, wrestling, Muay Thai, karate, judo, and kickboxing, among others.

Competitions are held in an octagonal cage or ring, and participants utilize striking, grappling, and ground fighting techniques. Fighters are trained in multiple martial arts to become well-rounded in their abilities. MMA is governed by a set of rules, often referred to as the Unified Rules of Mixed Martial Arts, which outline permissible techniques, weight classes, and match conduct to ensure fairness and safety.

The sport has gained considerable popularity worldwide, particularly in the United States, with major promotional organizations like the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) leading the way. MMA events are often characterized by their dynamic and unpredictable nature, as fighters can employ a wide range of strategies and tactics to defeat their opponents.
