Football

Football refers to a team sport played between two teams, typically consisting of eleven players each, on a rectangular field with goalposts at each end. The primary objective is to score goals by getting a spherical ball into the opposing team’s goal, which is usually achieved by using any part of the body except the hands and arms, except for the goalkeepers.

The term “football” can refer to different variations of the sport, including association football (known as soccer in some countries), American football, Canadian football, and rugby football, among others. Association football, the most globally popular variant, is governed by the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) and features major tournaments such as the World Cup.

In general, football is characterized by its emphasis on teamwork, strategy, and athleticism, and it is played at both amateur and professional levels around the world, contributing significantly to global culture and community engagement.
